Baby’s constant stretching is not necessarily a sign of cerebral palsy. Non-stop stretching is mainly due to the following reasons: 1. long sleeping time: too long sleeping time can easily lead to the baby’s muscle soreness and discomfort, so the baby keeps stretching when waking up; 2. rapid growth: the baby’s growth rate is particularly fast, especially in the first three months after birth, and the respiratory system has not yet been developed, the baby will be stretched out through the formation of the lungs extrusion to give oxygen to the heart, as long as the baby eats, sleeps, develops normally As long as the baby eats, sleeps, develops normally and has a good spirit, don’t worry too much; 3. gastrointestinal discomfort: infant gastrointestinal function has not yet developed, easy to gastrointestinal discomfort, abdominal distension, intestinal colic, the baby will frequently stretch, and mostly accompanied by crying, do not eat; 4. improper sleeping position: the baby sleeps in an incorrect position, resulting in lack of oxygen, which can cause the baby to love to stretch, accompanied by facial redness, parents should adjust the sleeping position in a timely manner, and more often choose to lie on the back or the side. Cerebral palsy in babies is mostly caused by asphyxia and hypoxia, resulting in ischemic-hypoxic brain damage, or a few are related by genetic factors. Cerebral palsy in babies can be characterized by abnormal posture, similar to stretching; or feeling floppy or hard when picking up the baby; or abnormal motor development, lagging behind normal children of the same age; or intellectual disability. It is normal for infants to keep stretching, but it may also be caused by gastrointestinal discomfort or lack of oxygen. We should observe the time and duration of this behavior, and if it is accompanied by poor mental status, we should consult the doctor in time.
