It is impossible to reverse cirrhosis and to achieve a cure and return to a situation where there is no cirrhosis of the liver. This is because the liver needs to have a normal structure in addition to normal liver cells to exercise its normal functions. The so-called cirrhosis of the liver means that the normal structure of the liver has been destroyed. When patients go to the hospital for checkups, they often see ultrasound, CT, and MRI reports that the liver has many small nodules and regenerative nodules, which are also liver cells, but they are not functional or do not reach normal function. Therefore, cirrhosis of the liver is irreversible and cannot be cured. However, there are clinical treatments for cirrhosis. First, the cause of cirrhosis needs to be found and removed to avoid further aggravation of cirrhosis; second, even if there is cirrhosis, the patient should not be discouraged because the compensatory function of the liver is very strong. The human liver weighs about 1500g, and when 2/3 of it is cut off and only 1/3 is left, it can still live very well, that is, the liver is enough as long as 1/3 is left. If the condition worsens further and the liver is no longer functional, the last step is to do a liver transplant.
