If there is numbness in one of the limbs with weakness and speech impairment, cerebrovascular disease is highly suspected, with signs and symptoms of neurological deficits due to ischaemia, hypoxic necrosis or cerebral softening of brain tissue as a result of impaired local blood supply to the brain. Prompt hospital consultation is required to clarify the diagnosis through cranial CT and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations and active treatment.
