Why do fracture ends harden?

Fracture end sclerosis can occur during the healing process, such as surgical treatment, and after surgical treatment, if the fracture end is unstable, sclerosis can occur and prevent the fracture from healing. If fracture end sclerosis occurs, the fracture will need to be reoperated to open up the sclerotic portion and replace the internal fixation as appropriate, or to increase the stability of the fracture end to change the fracture end sclerosis and facilitate healing. Fracture end sclerosis occurs when the fracture does not heal with the opposite fracture fragment and the fracture end is protected by a closed treatment. Sclerosis is mainly present when the fracture is unstable and when there is micro-irritation to prevent the fracture end from growing, prompting the fracture end to harden.
