The incubation period for gonorrhea is usually 3-5 days. Syphilis can be latent for several months or longer. Syphilis can be basically excluded by retesting syphilis antibodies and TRUST generally 6-8 weeks after unclean sexual intercourse. Within 2 weeks of genital herpes, the disease is prone to recur, especially after drinking alcohol and exertion. The incubation period for warts is 3-8 months, which means that new warts will be present from 3-8 months after infection. Acute HIV infection is usually 2-4 weeks. HIV can be largely ruled out by checking for HIV antibodies 4-8 weeks after unclean sex. There is no need to be overly alarmed after unclean sex, too much panic and premature testing won’t help.
