What do I know about obstetric anesthesia?

Obstetric anesthesia is mostly epidural anesthesia, which is commonly known as hemianesthesia. A puncture needle is used in the lumbar intervertebral space to reach the epidural space for injection of anesthetics, which anesthetizes the lower half of the mother’s body. The patient is always awake. The injection of anesthetic should not be overdosed, as overdose will lead to a drop in maternal blood pressure and respiratory difficulties, and is not good for the fetus. At the same time, anesthesia can not completely inhibit the pulling reaction during surgery. Therefore, this method of anesthesia will have mild pain and discomfort, not completely painless.
