Winter tonic for the body is not limited to taking some tonic products. “The spleen and stomach are the foundation of the latter”, which means that the innate essence of normal diet and nutrition is fundamental to accumulate. In addition, children’s internal organs are delicate, and long-term use of tonic drugs can affect the spleen and stomach’s function of transportation and transformation. Especially for those children with poor spleen and stomach function, regulating the spleen and stomach is a prerequisite for nourishing the innate essence. When choosing some tonic products, we should be aware that they may hinder the spleen and stomach’s function of transportation and digestion, so we need to supplement some herbal medicines that can transport the spleen and digestion. Third, dietary supplements are fundamental. Daily food can not only meet the basic energy needs of physical activities, but also provide an important material guarantee to maintain the metabolic balance of the body and the stability of the internal environment. The “Nei Jing” has the principle of “five grains for nourishment, five fruits for help, five animals for benefit, five dishes for filling”. Grains are mainly carbohydrates, which can provide the body with basic energy and are the basis for dietary supplementation. Various fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins and trace elements can be used as necessary supplements. Meat can supplement the body’s protein and lipid needs. It should be reasonably matched with the needs of children at different stages of development. According to the physiological characteristics of children’s “lung, spleen and kidney” deficiencies, the most common method of dietary supplementation is to supplement the lung, spleen and kidney. Iron stick yam is rich in 18 kinds of amino acids and more than 10 kinds of trace elements and other minerals, so it has the function of strengthening the spleen and stomach, nourishing the lungs and kidneys, tonifying the middle of the body, strengthening the spleen and replenishing the deficiency, strengthening the kidneys and essence, benefiting the heart and calming the mind. The spleen is the essence of the latter part of the body, which transports water and grain and is the source of biochemistry of qi and blood. In case of spleen deficiency, Six Gentlemen’s Soup is often used. When using blood and flesh sentient products such as Agaricus blazei to benefit the kidney essence, it is necessary to appropriately cooperate with Chinese herbs that have the effect of eliminating food and resolving stagnation, such as chicken neijin and jiao hawthorn. Based on the characteristics of “blood vessels are drawn in” and “tendons and veins are not nourished” in winter, Chinese medicine believes that the circulation of qi and blood in the meridians is a tonic. Therefore, in clinical practice, according to the child’s physical condition, we use Chinese herbs with the effect of warming the meridians for internal use, external application (acupuncture point compress, umbilical therapy, etc.), fumigation, and combined with Tui Na, as well as the Six Character Technique and other fitness gong methods, can receive more ideal toning effect. Especially for children with allergies, in addition to the application in summer, the “winter treatment” in winter has good effect on the prevention and treatment of respiratory diseases.
