Intermittent memory loss means that it is easier to forget something for a certain period of time! Sometimes good, sometimes bad! And amnesia means that it is easy to forget things all the time. Causes: 1. Patients lose their memory of past experiences. 2. The loss of memory is sometimes limited to a certain period of time, that is, the patient only remembers old things and forgets the present. 3. The memory loss is sometimes limited to important events, which is called “episodic amnesia”. 4. The memory loss may occur suddenly after a painful shock, but the memory may return after a period of time. There are four types of intermittent amnesia as follows: 1. Localized amnesia: The patient completely loses memory of what happened in the hours before and after certain traumatic events. 2. Selective amnesia: The individual selectively remembers some and forgets some of the events that occurred during a certain period of time. 3. Total amnesia: The individual completely forgets the background of his or her life, including name, address, etc. 4.Continuous amnesia: The individual forgets the past experiences since a certain year or before a certain event.
