After infection with novel coronavirus, patients may present with symptoms of low- or high-grade fever. Although there is a lack of sufficient clinical information on the symptoms of novel coronavirus pneumonia, according to the available case data, novel coronavirus infection is often characterized by fever as the first symptom, and some infected patients may develop significant hyperthermia, with a body temperature of 39°C or higher. Some of the infected patients may have a significant fever with a body temperature of 39°C or higher, while others have only mild fever with a body temperature of 38°C or less. In addition, some patients have mild symptoms and may even have no significant fever. Therefore, the diagnosis of novel coronavirus infection cannot be confirmed by symptoms such as fever, malaise and dry cough alone, but requires a combination of epidemiological history, chest imaging, blood tests and pathogenic findings.
