Simple premature beats generally do not need long-term medication, when the premature beats gradually disappear or improve, anti-arrhythmic drugs can be gradually discontinued; if the premature beats are caused by other diseases, long-term medication may be required. The specific medication should follow the doctor’s instructions.
1. If the premature beats are due to mental factors, or phased changes in cardiac function, long-term medication is generally not needed, and recovery can be achieved through short-term medication, improvement of lifestyle and bad habits, and so on.
2. If the premature beats are caused by heart failure, ischemic cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy and other underlying heart diseases, or previous acute myocardial infarction, myocarditis and other cardiac diseases, most of the premature beats are due to structural changes of the heart, which may require long-term medication and treatment of the primary disease.
If premature beats occur, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for treatment.
