The phenomenon of not being able to open the eyes may be considered to be caused by congenital factors; it may also be considered to be caused by acquired factors, such as acquired ptosis, inflammation and infection of the eye surface.
1. Congenital factors: congenital inability to open the eyes or the eyes do not open much, the upper eyelid is ptosis, which does not affect the patient’s vision, there is a certain family genetic history, usually the patient will appear in this situation at birth.
2. Acquired factors: patients may have ptosis due to various reasons such as eye muscle spasm, trauma, nerve injury, etc., even covering part of the cornea, the eyelid is powerless to lift up, and external force is needed to return to normal. Obvious inflammation and infection of the eye surface, and the conjunctival surface secretion is large and sticky, which also leads to difficulty in opening the eyes, especially in the morning when getting up.
