What is the main route of transmission of the novel coronavirus

There are more types of coronaviruses, and in addition to the latest epidemic of novel coronaviruses, a total of six coronaviruses that can infect humans have been identified. Among them, novel coronaviruses are mainly transmitted by short-distance respiratory droplets, which are infected when the patient coughs, sneezes or speaks loudly, and then spewed out and inhaled by susceptible persons. Due to the short residence time of droplets in the air and the moving distance of about two meters, it can cause close transmission. In addition, infection can be caused by direct contact with respiratory secretions of the patient or by contact with contaminated objects. In addition, recent studies have shown the possibility of fecal-oral transmission as well, which requires vigilance.
