Ganoderma lucidum is not used as a drug to control hypertension, but there may be some potential benefits for people with hypertension. Reishi is rich in proteins, peptides, vitamins and trace elements, as well as polysaccharides, nucleosides, furans, sterols, alkaloids, triterpenoids and other biologically active components, which can nourish the liver and kidneys and help strengthen the root. Experimental studies have found that it may have immunomodulatory, hypoglycemic, hypolipidemic, antioxidant, anti-aging and anti-tumor effects. However, there is no clinical evidence that it can be used as an antihypertensive drug, so patients with hypertension should still receive standardized antihypertensive treatment, along with a low-salt and low-fat diet, weight control, exercise and other lifestyle adjustments.
