Rotavirus vaccine is a self-funded vaccine and is usually administered orally to children between the ages of 2 months and 3 years. Rotavirus enteritis is an infectious disease that affects children during the months of October and December and is mainly spread by the fecal-oral route. It can cause fever, vomiting, abdominal pain, and watery or egg-flake stools, leading to death in severe cases. Rotavirus infection can cause severe diarrhea and is the second leading cause of death in infants and children. To reduce the mortality rate of rotavirus infection, children can be vaccinated against rotavirus, which is currently the most effective means of preventing rotavirus-infected diarrhea. It is important to note that rotavirus vaccine is a live attenuated recombinant vaccine, which is an oral preparation that can be given directly to infants and children, but should not be given in hot water to prevent the vaccine from becoming ineffective.
