Detection of novel coronavirus infection in humans

There are various methods for isolation of novel coronaviruses, the most commonly used is to collect respiratory secretions such as sputum from patients and send them to the laboratory to first observe whether they contain virus, and if so, then in vitro isolation and culture can amplify the virus strain. Next, genomic sequencing and nucleic acid testing can be used to test the pathogenicity of alveolar lavage, blood, and pharyngeal swabs from patients. In addition, fluorescence RT-PCR for positive nucleic acid detection of novel coronaviruses is also a testing method.
