Can you limp with a broken ankle?

In case of extra-articular fracture of the ankle joint, there is no rippled joint surface, such as avulsion fracture of the outer ankle and avulsion fracture of the tip of the inner ankle. Generally, after standard treatment, repositioning and fixation plus functional exercise, they can be restored to normal and no leg lameness will occur. If the fracture affects the joint surface of the ankle joint, such as the fracture of the lower tibia, the fracture on the joint surface of the inner and outer ankle, and the fracture is not properly repositioned, resulting in an unsmooth and uneven joint surface, traumatic arthritis will develop. The patient may experience pain in the ankle joint when walking and may develop a walking limp.
