Congenital ptosis is a common eye disease in children, and its treatment is currently controversial and misunderstood by scholars at home and abroad. In the treatment of ptosis in children, more emphasis is placed on the surgical outcome, while the development of binocular vision, the balance of binocular vision, and the treatment of amblyopia in the ptotic eye are neglected; due to the limitations of ptosis suspension materials, there is also more confusion about the timing of ptosis surgery in children, the surgical procedure, and the choice of suspension materials. As society evolves, the assessment and intervention of the psychological development of children with ptosis is also a factor in choosing the timing of surgery in children.
