In life, we have not only heard of the tragic fact that “stroke” takes life in an instant, but also seen many people who, after suffering from stroke, are originally a healthy, happy person, suddenly collapsing in bed, becoming very depressed and decrepit, losing their confidence and strength in life, and the whole family is also in a heavy load. The whole family is also swayed by the heavy load, and happiness becomes the light in other people’s homes, which is unattainable …… Stroke (also known as stroke) is the second killer in Asia, and its morbidity, mortality and disability rates are quite high, which is a class of diseases that seriously endanger human health. Stroke is divided into two types: ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke, of which ischemic stroke accounts for about 80% of all stroke patients. Its cause is mainly related to the narrowing or occlusion of the lumen of the 2 carotid arteries and 2 vertebral arteries in the neck. First of all, when the internal carotid artery is narrowed to 70-90%, firstly, it will severely block the blood and cause brain damage due to ischemia for no reason; secondly, it is easier to form blood clots due to the slow deceleration of blood flow. At the same time, it leads to atherosclerosis of the internal carotid artery in the neck causing stroke to occur. For a long time, the focus of attention on cerebrovascular diseases has been mostly on the treatment after the occurrence of stroke, while carotid endarterectomy shifts the focus of attention forward, i.e., on the prevention of stroke before it occurs. If it is determined that carotid artery stenosis exceeds 70% or there is intimal plaque formation, the effect of drug treatment alone is limited, and surgical treatment should be considered to eliminate the “garbage” blocking the blood vessels, so that If it is determined that carotid stenosis is more than 70% or intimal plaque formation is limited by medication alone, surgical treatment should be considered to eliminate the “junk” blocking the blood vessels, so that the blood vessels can be unblocked, the blood supply to the brain can be improved, and the source of emboli can be cut off. If the patient already has clinical symptoms such as transient cerebral ischemia, cerebral thrombosis or cerebral infarction, surgical treatment should be considered even if the degree of carotid artery stenosis is less than 70%.
