Orgasm causes contractions of the uterus, but has no effect on the cervix. The cervix is located at the very bottom of the vagina and is relatively hidden. The position of the cervix can be different for everyone, with some people being anterior, some posterior, and some having the cervix in the middle. During sexual climax, the uterus is stimulated to undergo rhythmic contractions. From the base of the uterus all the way to the cervix, the more muscle spasms occur during its orgasmic phase and the longer it will take to experience them. If the action is too intense during orgasm, it may cause discomfort due to cervical pressure, such as pain in the lower abdomen, and in some cases, there may even be damage to the vaginal wall.
