Viral keratitis

Many patients with viral keratitis relapse in the spring and present with redness, eye pain, photophobia, tearing, and foreign body sensation after exposure to cold. The onset of the disease is characterized by painful eyelids, localized flushing of the skin, and a corn-like papule that rapidly turns into a small blister, often in bunches, and, in severe cases, corneal damage with significant photophobia and burning pain and tearing. Once the diagnosis of viral keratitis is confirmed, it is important to follow the doctor’s instructions and not to stop the medication without permission.
