After pituitary tumor surgery, pregnancy can usually be normal if the body’s pituitary hormone levels are normal. Pituitary tumors are classified by size as pituitary microadenomas, pituitary macroadenomas and pituitary macroadenomas. Pituitary microadenomas are usually functional pituitary adenomas, and in the case of lactotrophic adenomas, they may cause menopause, lactation, and infertility. If surgical treatment can be done to remove the pituitary microadenoma, the patient’s prolactin level drops to normal and menstruation returns to normal, at which point she is able to conceive normally. The other types of pituitary adenomas usually do not cause infertility, and after surgery, if the pituitary prolactin levels, including progesterone and estrogen, are normal, the patient can conceive normally.
