I believe that many patients have this experience: they suddenly sprain a certain joint during sports, immediately feel pain and discomfort, but still can insist on sports, and find that the joint swells up and the pain worsens after the end. In fact, this is the most common sports injury, swelling is due to bleeding after joint injury, but do you know the correct way to deal with it? 1, stop sports, immediately ice, which is conducive to stop bleeding, if there are conditions with elastic bandages to tie the joint fixed for 2-3 days; 24 hours later hot compresses; 2, try to elevate the injured limb above the heart, which is conducive to reduce swelling; 3, if the lower limb injury, 2-3 within less to walk on the ground; if the upper limb joint injury, to use a forearm sling suspension for 2-3 days. Through this treatment, the joint sprain will soon be well. If there is still no improvement after 2 weeks of such treatment, then there is structural damage in the joint, which needs to be determined by relevant examination. Remember the following points: 1, do not rub with your hands after the injury; 2, do not use hot compresses for 24 hours; 3, the injury site needs to recover on its own at rest, so give it a chance to recover for 2-3 days, i.e., move the injured part less and preferably remain stationary.
