Treatment of facial muscle spasm

Facial muscle spasm is also known as facial muscle twitching. It is characterized by involuntary twitching of half of the face, with paroxysmal and irregular twitching and varying degrees of severity, starting from the orbicularis oculi muscle and then involving the whole face. It is more common in middle-aged women. The disease can be classified as “tendon tigers and flesh moistening”, and acupuncture treatment was first described in the “Preparedness and Urgency of the Thousand Jin Essentials” of the Tang Dynasty. It was first reported in the Tang dynasty in the “Preparedness and Emergency Thousand Gold Prescriptions”, and was reported in the mid-1960s. However, it was not until the 1980s that it gained attention. At present, the efficiency of various acupuncture methods in treating this disease is about 80%, but the recovery rate is still relatively low. (1) Acupuncture points: commonly used points: Waiguan, Hegu, Neiguan. Alternate points: Fengchi, Wanbone. (2) Operation: 1 to 2 commonly used points are selected each time, and 1 alternate point is taken. All use the Xing Qi method. The method is: first keep the environment quiet, the room temperature at 20-25°C, and the patient is loosely dressed. Select 28 or 30 milli needles, in the selected common acupuncture point acupuncture point area quickly into the needle, about 0.5 inch deep, the tip of the needle slightly to the direction of the center, around the search for gas after a slight rapid lifting plug, to promote needle sensation uploading, and slow lifting tight plug method about 1 minute; alternate points, the left hand index finger to press the bottom of the point, the right hand holding the needle into the needle L5 inch or so, try to make the needle sensation conduction around the eye. All retained needles for 20 minutes. Every 5 to 10 minutes to transport the needle once a day or every other day, l0 times for a course of treatment. Cluster acupuncture method (1) acupuncture points: commonly used points: A is point (the starting point of facial spasm). Alternate points: Sibai, Zanzhu, Yingxiang, Cheek car. (2) Operation: The A-Yi point must be taken with 15-30 milli needles of 30-32 gauge (0.5-1.5 inch long). Stab the point shallowly, taking intensive rows of needles, or scattered stabs (their interval is o. 5 to 1 cm wide). The skin of the needle tip should be made to protrude, forming a small mound, and so that the needle body hangs without falling. Alternate points are taken from 2 to 3 points, which should also be stabbed shallowly and left in place for 20 to 30 minutes. Once a day, 10 times as a course of treatment.
