What should I do if I have itchy skin?

Diabetic pruritus is most often caused by ringworm infection, dryness, diabetic peripheral neuropathy and pseudofilamentous skin infections. Diabetic peripheral neuropathy most often presents as itching limited to the lower limbs, scalp, vulva or trunk, which can be relieved by controlling blood glucose. If the itching is due to infection, the infection needs to be controlled.
