What are the prevention methods of nasopharyngeal cancer

  Nasopharyngeal cancer is the tumor with the highest incidence in the nasopharynx. It is often insidious in origin and the main early manifestations are nasal congestion, epistaxis and runny nose, which are often treated as rhinitis or sinusitis, and the symptoms can be partially improved after anti-inflammatory treatment. Some patients have hearing loss, facial numbness, neck swelling, and how to effectively prevent nasopharyngeal carcinoma.  For the prevention of nasopharyngeal cancer, the following points need to be noted 1. Avoid long-term exposure to heavily polluted environment as much as possible; 2. Eat less salted fish, cured meat and other foods because they contain carcinogenic substances such as nitrosamines; 3. People in areas with high incidence of nasopharyngeal cancer and those with family history of nasopharyngeal cancer should be screened for nasopharyngeal cancer. EBV test can be used as an indicator for the screening, and about 80% of patients with nasopharyngeal cancer test positive for EBV.  The cause of nasopharyngeal carcinoma is unknown and is currently believed to be related to environmental pollution, eating pickled food, EBV infection, etc. It has also been reported that it is related to genetic factors and about 10% of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients have a family history.
