HPV Screening Precautions

The HPV test is mainly used for cervical cancer screening, and the following are some precautions for the test: 1. Before the test: 1. Eat a light diet before the test, forbid too greasy, spicy and stimulating food, keep a calm mind and do not be overly nervous; 2. Avoid menstruation and vaginal bleeding as much as possible, because the test during this special period may easily cause intrauterine infection and also easily affect the accuracy of the test results; 3. 3. Avoid sexual intercourse 3 days before the examination, so as not to cause cervical congestion after stimulation of the cervix, which will also affect the shedding of epidermal cells and thus interfere with the examination results; 4. Do not douche the vagina within 72 hours before the examination, and do not administer drugs intravaginally. The HPV virus is self-limiting and most of the infections in women can be eliminated on their own, but only a small percentage of them will continue to be infected. Once the infection continues, it can easily lead to cervical lesions. Therefore, after the HPV test, the cervical biopsy should be performed according to the condition of the disease to determine whether there is cancer, so that early intervention can be made.
