The fever usually indicates an infection, and in the case of an out-of-hospital infection, general antibiotics are used. In the case of an in-hospital infection, a blood culture is required, and a powerful antibiotic is selected based on experience, and a step-down anti-infection approach is used, with sensitive antibiotics switched to the blood culture if necessary. This is the root of treatment. Li Hongying, Department of Pediatrics, Tongliao Hospital
In case of fever, our scale is 38.0 degrees or more, use bujofen type to reduce fever (aspirin is rarely used to reduce fever in children because it may lead to Reye’s syndrome), or with physical cooling. Hormones are not used as much as possible and may lead to the spread of infection (however, once the infection is present in myelosuppressed patients, the lesion is not easily confined and is often systemic), but can be considered when the temperature is really uncontrollable, but not when leukemia is suspected at first diagnosis and the diagnosis is not yet clear!
Transfusion of blood in patients with high fever should be suspended, you can reduce the heat treatment, and then slowly transfuse after the fever has subsided, and observe the reaction of the child.
Generally speaking, it is still good to identify whether the transfusion reaction or the fever caused by infection.
