Congenital choledochal cyst is a more common congenital biliary malformation in pediatric surgery and should be operated on as early as possible once diagnosed, the surgical procedure being the removal of the cystic bile duct reconstruction. With the development of medical technology, the treatment of common bile duct cysts has changed considerably. With the development of laparoscopic technology, laparoscopic treatment of choledochal cysts is gradually becoming popular worldwide. Laparoscopic treatment of radical choledochal cyst is the highest level of pediatric surgery, which is not only aesthetically pleasing after surgery, but also has positive results with few complications, and has advantages over open surgery in removing cysts, with more complete removal of cysts and better near and long-term outcomes. Due to technical constraints, this technique is currently carried out mainly in larger children’s hospitals. Since laparoscopic radical choledochal cyst surgery was carried out in our hospital, we have achieved good results, and it has become the preferred treatment for choledochal cysts, which is increasingly popular among parents and healthcare professionals of children.
