Acupuncture treatment of refractory Parkinson’s disease

Typical case: Mrs. Wang is 76 years old and has suffered from Parkinson’s disease for 5 years. Her family is relatively well-off, and she has taken many kinds of medicines orally in local hospitals of various sizes with poor results. Children took her to the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) 301 Hospital to see a doctor, experts suggest that can be done craniotomy, the cost of more than 200,000 yuan, but the effect is not good to say that they have no choice but to return to Anyang. After many inquiries, she came to the city’s Sixth People’s Hospital Pain Department. Doctors gave her a detailed examination, she was lying in bed, the whole body shaking the whole bed with shaking, and said that the hands can not hold the buns, legs also shaking their own can not go up the stairs. This was the most serious Parkinson’s disease encountered by the pain department. Director Dong organized a consultation with the whole department and formulated a plan based on needle knife and nerve block treatment to personally implement the operation. After the first treatment, Mrs. Wang’s head shaking was significantly reduced. After more than 20 days of comprehensive treatment, her bed no longer “quakes”, her hands held the buns, and she was able to walk up the stairs. The first report of needle knife treatment for Parkinson’s disease was made by Prof. Xiao Dehua in 2009 when he assisted Romania in treating many cases of Parkinson’s disease. Parkinson’s disease is a neurodegenerative disease commonly seen in middle-aged and elderly people, mainly characterized by degeneration of the nigrostriatal pathway. It is characterized by degeneration of the nigrostriatal pathway, and is mainly characterized by tremors in the hands and feet or other parts of the body, slow movements, and rigidity of the body. The main symptoms of Parkinson’s disease include slowness of movement, muscle stiffness, trembling of the limbs, shuffling of the pace, depression and dementia, etc. The disease is the second most common form of Parkinson’s disease among the elderly. Parkinson’s disease is the fourth most common neurodegenerative disease in the elderly, and its etiology remains unclear. The pathophysiologic change is the degeneration of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra, leading to a lack of dopamine in the brain, which causes relative excitation of the nucleus accumbens and caudate nucleus and leads to Parkinson’s disease. So, what causes the lack of dopamine synthesis in the substantia nigra in Parkinson’s disease? We believe that it is directly related to the blood supply in the brain. The blood supply to the midbrain and substantia nigra comes from the middle cerebral artery, which is a direct continuation of the internal carotid artery. Chronic neck, shoulder, back and waist muscle, fascia and bone injuries caused by degeneration and chronic strain injury in middle-aged and elderly people, myofascial thickening and adhesion stimulate the nerves and affect the blood flow, leading to chronic insufficient blood supply to the brain, which may be one of the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease. Acupuncture and Knife therapy indirectly achieves the effect of increasing dopamine in the brain by loosening the soft tissues and relaxing the muscles, nerves, and blood vessels wrapped in the soft tissue fascial sleeve. This effect of improving blood flow to the brain has been confirmed in the clinic, and we can find that some of our elderly patients’ gray hairs partially become black, hair texture becomes hard, and hair loss decreases after many times of head and neck needle-knife treatment.
