How to treat congenital heart disease

The treatment of congenital heart disease is usually surgical and interventional. The traditional treatment method is surgical open-heart surgery, which is a mature technology and widely used. The child is operated under general deep hypothermia anesthesia, which requires a large amount of blood transfusion and extracorporeal circulation, and leaves a large surgical scar and a long time in bed. Compared with the traditional method, the new treatment method is internal interventional therapy. This is a more advanced treatment technique internationally and has partially replaced open-heart surgery. This method only requires a needle to be punctured on the blood vessel at the root of the thigh of the child, a certain shape of blocker to be delivered to the lesion through the delivery system, and then all the delivery system is removed and local pressure is applied to stop the bleeding, so it is less traumatic and less painful, and the child can go to the ground the day after the operation without leaving scars. In addition, intraoperative blood transfusion is not required, and the effects of extracorporeal circulation and deep hypothermia on the child’s brain development can be avoided. The most common diseases that can be treated with interventional methods are: patent ductus arteriosus, atrial septal defect, ventricular septal defect, pulmonary valve stenosis, coronary artery fistula, aortic constriction, and aortic stenosis. This technology has been used in our hospital for more than 10 years and has benefited a large number of children. Interventional therapy has become the treatment of choice for some congenital heart diseases.
