Vitreous injection anti neovascular drug therapy is used for wet age-related macular degeneration, secondary choroidal neovascularization, macular edema with retinal vein obstruction, pathological myopia, and diabetic macular edema. It treats a variety of fundus neovascular diseases by blocking signaling mediated by VEGF and inhibiting the growth of diseased neovascularization. The highest percentage of patients receiving this treatment is for wet macular degeneration. Vitreous injection has high operator requirements and should be performed at a regular hospital.
