How soon can you go down after ACL reconstruction surgery

After 3 weeks of ACL reconstruction surgery, the patient can walk on the ground with the aid of a double crutch, and after 8 weeks of surgery, the patient can gradually walk with weight. Because of the brittleness of the reconstructed ligament 2-3 weeks after ACL reconstruction surgery, the knee joint should not be put on the ground for 3 weeks after the surgery, but after 3-4 days after the surgery, the knee joint can be flexed and extended in bed for exercise. In addition, if the cast is removed before weight-bearing, it may affect the fixation effect of the cast, which is not conducive to postoperative recovery, so it is necessary to remove the cast about 8 weeks after surgery and then gradually start weight-bearing. After ACL reconstruction surgery, because the braking of the affected limb may cause poor blood return, it is recommended to elevate the affected limb properly to promote blood return after surgery. In addition, the affected limb can be massaged to prevent the formation of venous thrombosis.
