Pulmonary brain metastases symptoms

Brain metastasis from lung cancer is most commonly seen in small cell lung cancer, followed by large cell undifferentiated cancer, adenocarcinoma and squamous cancer. Patients with brain metastasis from lung cancer may have severe headache and vomiting with no obvious cause, vomiting may be jet vomiting, visual impairment after compression or invasion of the optic nerve, diplopia, paroxysmal darkness, sudden collapse, impaired consciousness, elevated blood pressure, slowed pulse rate, change in personality and temperament, and in severe cases, brain herniation due to tumor compression, leading to life-threatening respiratory arrest. In addition to the treatment of lung cancer, symptomatic treatment can be carried out to lower the cranial pressure and reduce cranial edema.
