What tests should be done for cachexia?

  Cachexia is also known as cachexia. It is a syndrome of extreme emaciation, skin and bones, skeleton-like, anemia, weakness, complete bed rest, inability to take care of oneself, extreme pain, and general failure. It is mostly caused by cancer and other serious chronic diseases. It can be seen as a state of intoxication due to disorders of many organs of the body. The occurrence of this syndrome means that the organism is in a state of severe dysfunction. What tests should be done for cachexia?  1.Nutritional status examination Progressive wasting over 3 months, weight loss ≥ 7.5% compared to the original weight (at diagnosis), or IBM index < 80%.  2.Medical history A history of chronic wasting disease with loss of appetite (poor appetite, 1/3 less food than when healthy) and fatigue.  3.Blood examination Routine blood examination, liver and kidney function and electrolyte examination. Total protein <55g/l, albumin <35g/l, prealbumin <250mg/l.
