The diseases that cause pathological fractures are broadly divided into two categories, namely non-neoplastic and neoplastic diseases.
The main non-neoplastic diseases include endocrine metabolic diseases, osteoporosis, osteogenesis imperfecta, and septic osteomyelitis.
Neoplastic diseases mainly include osteosarcoma, giant cell tumour of bone, metastases, multiple myeloma, etc.
