Is arthroscopic treatment effective for middle-aged and elderly people with medial meniscus damage and internal knee valgus?

Meniscus injuries in the middle-aged and elderly are mainly degenerative chronic meniscus injuries. In cases where the meniscus has degenerated and worn out, a slight movement can result in a tear of the meniscus. If the torn meniscus is simply repaired or removed using arthroscopy, the abnormal forces and wear on the joint will remain without removing the cause, making the arthroscopic procedure ineffective and the recurrence rate high. If the cause of wear and tear is effectively removed through a combination of minimally invasive osteotomy and orthopaedic surgery, the symptoms can be effectively relieved, the repair of the meniscus and cartilage promoted, further progression of osteoarthritis stopped and joint replacement prevented.
