Does reflux esophagitis choke on food?

Some patients with reflux esophagitis may experience a choking sensation when eating, mainly due to inflammation of the esophagus caused by refluxed material or spasm of the esophagus. Sometimes it is due to the dysfunction of the esophagus, and if it is combined with esophageal stricture, it may be impossible to swallow solid food first, followed by liquid or semi-liquid food, with progressive worsening of dysphagia, and in the early stage it may be intermittent dysphagia, with dysphagia occurring when eating both solid and liquid food. Therefore, for patients who choke on food, the first thing to consider is whether it is esophageal cancer. In addition to esophageal cancer, it is necessary to consider whether there is inflammation of the esophagus, the most common of which may be reflux esophagitis.
