Pain is not just a symptom but can also be a disease

Modern medical research proves that chronic pain, especially neuropathic pain, is a disease that seriously affects the quality of life of patients, leading to dysfunction of various systems of the body, low immunity and inducing various complications, which seriously affects the quality of life and work efficiency of patients, and is often more harmful to the human body than other diseases. With the progress of medical science and the improvement of people’s quality of life, people gradually realize the importance of chronic pain. In 2000, the World Health Organization proposed that “chronic pain is a type of disease”, thus classifying pain as a disease. Chronic pain is a disease (not just a symptom) has been gradually formed by public consensus. It reflects the new era of medical workers’ higher technical level and strong humanitarian care for patients. It is necessary to make hospitals free from moans and cries. To change people’s perception of hospitals, where they no longer need to carry pain and suffering. Therefore, pain management is a legitimate and urgent social need that should be met. With the development of modern anesthesiology and pain specialties, pain medicine is an emerging specialty, a multicenter collaborative emerging edge discipline, focusing on the advantages of clinical multidisciplinary consultation, mainly to complete the complex, difficult chronic and intractable pain treatment, so that the previous situation of “there is no place to see pain or no one to see intractable pain” has been fundamentally improved. The situation of “no one to see for pain or intractable pain” has been fundamentally improved. In recent years, minimally invasive treatment technology has been widely recognized and applied in the field of pain treatment. At present, the best method of pain treatment is interventional minimally invasive analgesia, which is monitored and positioned by imaging and electrophysiological technology, and carried out under strict clinical standard operation to perform selective and destructive nerve block or precise focal target treatment to block the transmission of pain signals or release the compression of nerves, so as to achieve clinical The most representative technology is the radiofrequency triple block. The most representative technologies are radiofrequency trigeminal ganglion thermal coagulation destruction for trigeminal neuralgia and postherpetic neuralgia; selective posterior spinal nerve branch pulse radiofrequency for chronic cervical and low back pain; stellate ganglion block for intractable headache; CT-guided ozone nucleus ablation for mild to moderate disc herniation, arthritis, and lumbar spine surgery failure syndrome; spinal cord electrical stimulation for peripheral nerve injury pain, phantom pain, and spinal nerve injury. Peripheral nerve injury pain, phantom limb pain, spinal cord injury pain; subarachnoid pumping for intractable cancer pain, postherpetic neuralgia; subarachnoid nerve destruction to relieve advanced cancer pain and other treatment items. Since the IASP declared October 11 as Global Day Against Pain in 2004, World Analgesia Day has been an important holiday for physicians involved in pain management worldwide. The International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) has proposed the theme of “Concern for Oncologic Pain” and “Global Year of Pain Prevention for Women”. The call is to pay more attention to the significant impact of chronic pain suffered by cancer patients and their need for more effective treatment. The slogan: “Real Women, Real Pain” is also to pay more attention to women’s pain. In line with the initiative of the International Pain Society, the Pain Branch of the Chinese Medical Association will hold a press conference for World Analgesia Day 2008 at the Great Hall of the People on October 20, 2008. Our pain clinic will hold a three-day charity clinic and pain diagnosis and consultation activities!
