Acute bronchitis is an acute inflammation of the bronchial and tracheal mucosa caused by biological, physical or chemical irritants or allergens. The disease starts rapidly and manifests itself as coughing and coughing with or without wheezing. If the inflammation is not controlled or if the disease is severe, it can develop into chronic bronchitis. Chronic bronchitis is a chronic non-specific inflammation of the tracheal mucosa and the tissues surrounding the bronchial mucosa, which is manifested by cough, sputum and wheezing for at least 3 months per year for at least 2 years. The disease is diagnosed on the basis of excluding other diseases that cause symptoms of cough, sputum and wheezing, such as bronchial asthma, tuberculosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. If the disease becomes chronic, its course is long and prolonged and may eventually develop into chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
