Are there any “dietary taboos” for tumor patients?

Often, patients’ family members will ask, “What are the ‘taboos’ for food?”, and there is also the saying of “hairy things”. There is also the saying of “hairy food” in folklore, which says that “tumor patients can’t eat chicken, especially rooster”, and “eggs/seafood are hairy food and can’t be eaten”. There are a lot of sayings and patients feel at a loss, in fact, most of these sayings have no scientific basis. Modern epidemiological studies have found that some lifestyle/dietary factors are related to the occurrence of tumors, such as smoking and lung cancer, aflatoxin and liver cancer, excessive intake of nitrites (preserved food), etc. These are cancer triggering factors, and we say that “hair” is a different concept. Cancer development is a long process, less than a few years, more than ten years, it is impossible to imagine that today eat chicken, a few days after the tumor recurrence.
