In clinical practice, diabetes is only typed, there is no specific staging. It is only when there are diabetic complications that it will be staged for a particular disease, mainly diabetic nephropathy stage III and diabetic retinopathy stage III. 1. Diabetic nephropathy stage III: In addition to symptoms such as polyphagia, polydipsia, polyuria, lethargy, and itchy skin, renal function changes and persistent microalbuminuria will occur in this stage. The condition can be assessed by urine routine, 24h urine protein quantification and other related tests. 2. Diabetic retinopathy stage III: In this stage, there will be soft cotton wool-like exudation, hard exudation and increased microvascular tumors in the retina, which will cause distortion of vision and blurred vision, and increase the risk of retinal hemorrhage. The condition can be evaluated by fundoscopy and other tests. Both diabetic nephropathy stage 3 and diabetic retinopathy stage 3 are manifestations of the progression of diabetes mellitus, and in addition to the above symptoms, complications such as infections and neuropathy may also exist. When these symptoms occur, you should seek medical advice and treatment to prevent further progression of the disease.
