How long one can live with a tumor on the lung depends on the nature of the tumor as well as its stage, the presence of metastasis and the current status of the patient. The 5-year survival rate of stage I lung cancer can reach about 55%, and the 5-year survival rate of middle and advanced lung cancer is very low.
For lung tumors, most of the new organisms found in physical examination may be benign diseases, and if the patient has no uncomfortable situation and the possibility of malignancy is considered to be small after detailed examination, there is no need for special treatment, and regular review and follow-up can be done.
If the tumor is found to be significantly enlarged during the follow-up process, then surgical resection is needed immediately.
For a few people who have coughing, coughing up blood and other discomforts, lung tumor is found during examination. If there is no sign of distant metastasis, it is recommended to undergo surgery as early as possible for resection, and chemotherapy and other treatments may be needed after surgery.
For early-stage lung cancer, clinical cure may be achieved after surgery and life expectancy will not be affected; for middle- and late-stage lung cancer, life expectancy and quality of life can be prolonged with proper treatment.
