OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of Chinese herbal medicine to remove dampness and stasis in the recovery of the mucosa of the operative cavity after endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS). Methods: 72 patients (140 sides) with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps underwent ESS. Thirty-six cases (71 sides) in the treatment group were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the order of patient consultation. The mucosal tissues at the sinus complex of the nasal tract were clamped for observation at 2, 10 and 14 weeks after nasal endoscopy in the two groups, respectively. The differences between the two groups in the stages of mucosal regression were compared.
