This was a very difficult pancreatic cancer surgery, doing a total pancreatectomy with all the vessels dissected out and skeletonized at the same time (many of the vessels were encased in the tumor). This is the most difficult and cleanest total pancreatectomy we have done so far, and the completion of this surgery means that we have almost no more forbidden areas in pancreatic cancer. The white band is the superior mesenteric artery, the red band is the superior mesenteric vein portal vein, the yellow band below is the left renal artery, the yellow band above is the left gastric artery, and the orchid band is the common hepatic artery and the hepatic innominate artery, both of which are below the abdominal trunk, which are marked separately on the photos.
