What are the causes of rare large tumors

Yesterday, after 5 and a half hours of battle, a huge tumor of 15cm on the liver of 73 old man was finally removed completely. Initially, it was judged to be intrahepatic bile duct cancer. This type of tumor will not have obvious symptoms for a long time and is not sensitive to radiotherapy and chemotherapy, so surgery is the only effective treatment method. However, many patients may not have suitable surgery opportunity, the reasons include: 1. late discovery, advanced tumor, losing the chance of surgery; 2. tumor easily invades blood vessels, huge risk of resection; 3. some patients have imaging examination suggesting that they can be surgically resected, but after opening the abdomen, multiple corn-like metastases are found in the abdominal cavity, losing the chance of surgical resection. Today, this patient just had no special feeling, just felt uncomfortable in the upper abdomen, thought it was a stomach disease and ignored it for more than half a year, until her children forced to go for examination to find a huge right lobe of liver occupancy. The preoperative CT suggested that the tumor was already close to the thickest blood vessel: the inferior vena cava, and there was a risk of intraoperative hemorrhage. Intraoperatively, multiple lymph node metastases were also found to be possible. The tumor was completely resected without injuring the vena cava, and lymph node dissection was also done completely. The general condition of the postoperative period is now stable, and we believe that the recovery will be smooth.
