Is Ultrasound Accurate for Tumor Screening

Ultrasound is not accurate in detecting tumors and is prone to miss diagnosis. Compared with CT, MRI and other examinations, ultrasound is not so strong in penetration, and the scope of early tumor lesions is small, so it is easy to have missed diagnosis, and the accuracy is not very high; for the middle and late stage, larger tumors, the lesions are more obvious, so the accuracy will be higher, and only part of the tumor can be diagnosed. Generally, ultrasound is used as the initial diagnosis screening, if there is any abnormality or belongs to the high-risk group, it is necessary to carry out CT, X-ray and pathological tissue biopsy, etc., according to the comprehensive results to be able to make a good diagnosis, especially pathological tissue biopsy is the gold standard for diagnosing tumors.
