Is Helicobacter pylori a spiral bacterium or a bacillus

  H. pylori is a bacillus, but its shape is spiral, so it is called H. pylori, which requires very high growth conditions when cultured, and is the only microbial species that survives in the stomach. H. pylori generally reaches the gastric mucosa through the mouth first, mainly using its spiral shape to penetrate the gastric mucosa and then “take root” there, which takes months to cause chronic gastritis and years to develop into ulcers or atrophic gastritis, which is the most dangerous factor leading to gastric cancer. H. pylori infection can increase the risk of developing gastric cancer, and without it, at least a large proportion of gastric cancers would not occur. H. pylori exists in a wide range of different races and regions, and it is arguably one of the most widespread and common bacterial infections, and the older you are, the higher the chance of infection will be. Relative to its good prevention, the first thing to do is to wash your hands before and after meals, do not eat raw and cold food, it is best not to eat at roadside stalls, because hygiene can not be guaranteed. If you are eating in a group, it is best to use your own bowls and chopsticks, and to disinfect them in a disinfection cabinet.
