Urological problems should be carefully evaluated. Urinary disturbances caused by Parkinson’s can be characterized by irritative and obstructive symptoms, with the irritative symptoms being frequency, urgency and nocturia, and the obstructive symptoms being incomplete urination, thin urine lines, intermittent urination and straining to urinate. Irritation symptoms are usually the main symptoms. Because Parkinson’s disease affects the higher urinary centers in the brainstem and other parts of the body, voiding disorders occur. The administration of levodopa at the early stage of the voiding disorder will improve the voiding disorder, and M receptor antagonists such as tolterodine and oxybutynin can be used later in the treatment. In addition to pathological causes, urinary incontinence may also be caused by a lack of mobility and an inability to reach the toilet quickly. This cause is more common than neurological changes, and patients should be provided with some assistance, such as placing a urinal by the bedside, encouraging patients to bathe and urinate regularly, keeping the vulva clean, and preventing urinary tract infections.
