After arm surgery, the patient can be discharged from the hospital in one to two weeks. Surgery is required for arm fractures with significant displacement, fractures involving joints, open fractures, or those with neurovascular injuries. After the surgery, the patient should rest in bed, change the wound regularly to prevent infection, and take oral anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving drugs to improve blood circulation and promote fracture healing. If the patient is in good physical condition, recovers quickly and the family can complete daily care, he can be discharged from the hospital in about a week after examination by the doctor. If the patient is not in ripe condition for discharge, it will take two weeks after the stitches are removed before discharge. Regular follow-ups are required after discharge to keep track of recovery and to provide timely functional training. In addition, if the patient has a slow recovery, infection or other complications, he or she will not be discharged until after the condition has stabilized, depending on the outcome of the treatment.
