What is external canthoplasty with small incisions?

The eyelid formation method is divided into the buried line method and the incision method. The eyelid formed by the buried line method is not durable and easily becomes shallow or disappears, while the eyelid formed by the incision method is stable and durable, but the postoperative swelling is obvious, the recovery period is long and the incision marks are heavy. It is a difficult task in double eyelid surgery to discard the disadvantages of both methods while preserving the advantages of both. After years of practical experience in double eyelid surgery, the outer canthus small incision double eyelid surgery, this method is different from the traditional small incision double eyelid surgery method, it truly combines the advantages of the incision method and the buried wire method, while discarding their disadvantages, on the basis of retaining the natural double eyelid formed in the buried wire double eyelid surgery method, the double eyelid formed can be as stable and long-lasting as the full incision method. More importantly, canthopexy can make the necessary adjustments to the surgical design and operation according to individual eye characteristics, making it suitable for the vast majority of young single-lidded women. The procedure is based on the design of the eyelid fold line. Unlike the traditional full incision method where the upper eyelid skin is cut along the design line, a small incision of 0.5 cm is made on the lateral side of the designed eyelid fold line, then the thickened tissue in front of the lid is removed with special surgical instruments and finally sutured and fixed to form a natural, stable double eyelid. Advantages of the method: It avoids the embarrassing incision scar on the upper eyelid after surgery, and the resulting double eyelid fold is smooth and long-lasting. The skin of the upper eyelid is not cut all the way through, so the upper eyelid tissue swelling time is short and the recovery time is similar to that of the buried eyelid, and the natural state of the eyelid can be restored in a short period of time without being detected as having had double eyelid surgery.
